Requirements

Only measures that meet the requirements of the Energy Ordinance (SR 730.01; EnV) can be credited. The additional requirements for the technical characteristics and for the implementation of the measure are set out in Table 1.

Old systemNew system
TechnologyMains-operated cooling products within the scope of Annexes 1.14 or 2.11 EnEV (SR 730.02; EnEV) with a rated cooling capacity of up to 250 kW. All types of cascade systems are excluded.
Energy efficiencyMedium on the condensation sideAir
Room air-conditioning (SEER)≥ 4.4
Process HT (SEPR) ¹≥ 6.0
Process MT (SEPR) ²≥ 3.5
Process LT (SEPR) ²≥ 2.0
SizingThe total installed rated cooling capacity of the new system must be less than or equal to the total installed rated cooling capacity of the old system. In addition, it must be demonstrated that a reduction in cooling capacity has been examined and implemented as far as possible.
ImplementationThe replacement and commissioning of the new system must be carried out by a qualified specialist or company.

¹ HT: high operating temperature as defined in Annex 2.11 EnEV

² MT: medium / TT: low operating temperature as defined in Annex 1.14 EnEV

Proof of compliance

Compliance with the requirements must be demonstrated by the following documents. The documents listed in Table 2 are an integral part of the proof of measure implementation.

  1. 1.The information requirements (PDF format) of the new devices according to the Energy Efficiency Ordinance (Annex 1.14 or Annex 2.11 EnEV) demonstrating the efficiency requirements according to Table 1.
  2. 2.Invoice documents (PDF, PNG or JPEG format)

Symbols, Terms and Units

SymbolDescriptionUnit
ΔEannual electricity savingskWh/a
ΔEecocumulative electricity savingskWh
PKcooling capacitykW
SEERSeasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio—
hVLannual full load hoursh/a
Nsstandard effective durationa

Calculation Formulas

Annual Electricity Savings

ΔE = PK × hVL × (1/SEERvor - 1/SEERnach)

The annual electricity savings result from the cooling capacity, full load hours and the difference in seasonal efficiency before and after replacement.

Cumulative Electricity Savings

ΔEeco = ΔE × Ns

The cumulative electricity savings result from the annual savings multiplied by the standard effective duration.

Part of the EFFEL programme

Standardised measures are one of two measure types in the EFFEL programme (efficiency improvements by electricity suppliers, Art. 46b EnG). They follow a predefined SFOE catalogue with fixed savings values.
