Operational Optimization of Ventilation Systems
Ventilation
Measure Goal
The goal is to estimate the electricity savings triggered by the operational optimization of existing ventilation systems. This includes adjusting operating times or installing modulating control systems.
Symbols, Terms and Units
| Symbol | Description | Unit |
|---|---|---|
E | annual electricity consumption | kWh/a |
ΔEeco | cumulative electricity savings | kWh |
feco | reduction factor | — |
Ns | standard effective duration | a |
t | operating hours | h/a |
qv | volume flow rate | m³/h |
Calculation Formulas
Creditable Electricity Savings
The creditable electricity savings result from the difference between the current and new annual electricity consumption, multiplied by the reduction factor (0.75) and the standard effective duration. The standard effective duration is 1 year for adjusting operating times and 4 years for installing modulating control.
Stromeinsparung durch Betriebszeitanpassung
The electricity savings from adjusting operating times result from the old electricity consumption multiplied by the relative reduction in operating hours.
Stromeinsparung durch modulierende Steuerung
When installing modulating control, the power consumption in part-load operation is reduced proportionally to the 2.5 power of the relative volume flow. This leads to significant savings compared to operation at constant speed.
