Optimization of Existing Indoor Lighting Systems
Lighting
Measure Goal
The goal is to standardize the calculation of electricity savings triggered by the optimization of existing indoor lighting systems, particularly through the installation or retrofitting of presence and daylight controls, taking into account all consumption-relevant parameters.
Symbols, Terms and Units
| Symbol | Description | Unit |
|---|---|---|
E | annual electricity consumption | kWh/a |
ΔEeco | cumulative electricity savings | kWh |
fP | presence factor | - |
fTL | daylight factor | - |
Ns | standard effective duration | a |
Calculation Formulas
Electricity Savings through Presence Control
The electricity savings through presence control result from electricity consumption without control multiplied by the savings potential of the presence factor.
Electricity Savings through Daylight Control
The electricity savings through daylight control result from electricity consumption without control multiplied by the savings potential of the daylight factor.
Combined Control
With combined presence and daylight control, both factors are considered multiplicatively.
Cumulative Electricity Savings
The cumulative electricity savings result from the annual savings multiplied by the standard effective duration and the correction factor.
